Dutch Oven Apple Cobbler - Modified

1 pkg. yellow cake mix

5 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. minute tapioca (dry) 1 cup pecans, chopped
2 cubes butter
10-13 granny smith apples, cored, peel and sliced.
a. In a bowl, mix together cake mix, sugar, cinnamon, tapioca and pecans (you can mix this together ahead of time in a ziplock bag if desired). Melt butter and  pour into cake mixture.

Begin Improvising

b. Dump half of it on the ground, grumble, endure laughing and ridicule by your friends, regain composure and collect your thoughts.
c. Pour remaining mixture, if any, into dutch oven.
d. Beg nearest neighbor for more cake mixture (for this case, pineapple works great)
e. Pour some into dutch (somewhat close to what was spilled)
f. Add more butter and sugar (by this time you really don't care how much, just some amount you hope will taste good.)

Place apples into 12" Dutch oven. Pour cake mixture over apples. DO NOT MIX! (I chose to mix really well, it just seemed right at the time) Bake with 15 coals on top and 9 on the bottom Just put a bunch of coals under and on it!  for approximately 35 minutes. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
Enjoy!
