Movie Night

For a while now we have been enjoying movie night every Sunday as a family.  As we progressed through a series of Sunday night movies I have been rebuked several times.  It typically goes something like this...

Me...using the laptop

Josiah: "Dad, this is movie night as a family, are you watching?

Me...cleaning the kitchen

Josiah: "Mom, pause it until dad comes back"

Me...looking at a magazine

Josiah: "dad did you see that, maybe we should rewind it"

I have since learned that paying attention during movie night is necessary, even though I might spend more time watching the kids enjoying this once/week entertainment.

Citizens First Bank plaque for my dad

David (cafe655.blogspot.com) traveled to Oak Ridge, TN and back last Thursday to attend plaque unveiling at my dad's bank.  I was an honor to see that people still remember him 6 months later!

....Levi fell on the driveway and was crying, what follows is the conversation with Josiah.

Josiah: "Dad, are we allowed to cry in our neighborhood?"
Me: "Sure, what makes you say that?
Josiah: "I was worried we might aggravate someone!"

Truly his Papa's grandson.

Son, you are growing up so quick.  It has been nearly 3 months since your papa died and you are mentioning him less and less.  I promise to show you many pictures and tell lots of stories about him.  He loved you so much little bit and will always impact your life.
